Education

I grew up in Los Altos, California, the daughter of Mary and Jerre Noe.

I attended University of Washington for 2 years and Stanford University for a quarter, and then transferred to the University of Wisconsin, Madison, where I received my Bachelors of Music and Masters of Music in Cello Performance.

Here are my major teachers and what I learned from them:
Charles Frisbie: a great love of the cello
Margaret Rowell: natural, free body movement
Eva Heinitz: determination and humor
Lowell Creitz: systematic practice techniques
Aldo Parisot: smooth shifting and fast playing
George Neikrug: big sound and juicy vibrato
Gyorgy Sebok, pianist: authentic musical expression
Barbara Conable, Alexander Technique teacher: accurate body usage, making it possible to do what I
learned from all my other teachers.
